Affiliate Disclosure
We believe in radical transparency about how this site earns revenue. Read this page to understand exactly when and how we make money — and why it never influences our editorial scores.
Some links on this website are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This helps fund our independent testing operation.
What is affiliate marketing?
Affiliate marketing is a performance-based revenue model. When a publisher (us) links to a merchant (e.g., Bluehost), the merchant provides a unique tracking link. If you click that link and complete a purchase within the attribution window (typically 30–90 days), the merchant pays us a commission.
Commissions are paid by the merchant — not by you. The price you pay for hosting is identical whether you use our link or go directly to the merchant's website.
Our affiliate partners
TrueHost Reviews currently participates in affiliate programs with the following hosting providers:
- Bluehost — via Impact Radius (publisher ID 7318340). Commission paid per qualifying plan purchase.
- SiteGround — via SiteGround affiliate program. Commission paid per qualifying plan purchase.
- Hostinger — via Hostinger affiliate program. Commission paid per qualifying plan purchase.
All affiliate links on this site are marked with rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" in compliance with Google's webmaster guidelines and the FTC's Endorsement Guides.
How commissions do not influence our reviews
Our editorial policy: Affiliate commission rates, traffic incentives, and merchant relationships have zero influence on editorial scores, rankings, or recommendations. Hosts are evaluated solely on our published testing criteria.
Specifically:
- We do not accept payment for a positive review, a higher score, or a higher ranking position
- We do not receive free or discounted hosting in exchange for editorial coverage
- A host with a higher commission rate does not receive a higher score or more prominent placement
- Hosts we do not have affiliate relationships with are reviewed on the same objective criteria
- Negative findings — slow speeds, poor support, hidden fees — are reported in full regardless of affiliate status
FTC compliance
TrueHost Reviews complies with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 C.F.R. Part 255). We disclose our affiliate relationships:
- At the top of every review page via a site-wide disclosure bar
- Adjacent to affiliate links where contextually appropriate
- On this dedicated disclosure page, linked from the footer of every page
If you have questions about our affiliate relationships or believe a disclosure is missing from a page, please contact us.
Data sharing with affiliate networks
When you click an affiliate link, the affiliate network (e.g., Impact Radius) may set a tracking cookie on your browser. This cookie records that you arrived at the merchant's site via our link, enabling commission attribution.
- Tracking cookies do not collect personally identifiable information
- Cookies expire after the program's attribution window (typically 30–90 days)
- You can opt out of affiliate tracking by using a browser extension that blocks third-party cookies, or by going directly to the merchant's website
- Our full privacy policy explains how we handle data on our own site
